Nottingham has been named as one of the best places to have a night out in the UK, after being awarded the Purple Flag Status by the Association of Town Centre Management. It now ranks alongside other areas such as Covent Garden and Leicester Square in London. The 24 hour city has been judged on it's range of theatres, bars, clubs and restaurants as well as personal safety, cleanliness, appeal and it's cultural appeal.
